Our Purpose

As stated in our Articles of Incorporation, the organization is formed and shall operate exclusively for religious, educational, and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, including the development and perpetuation of Scholarship, Leadership, Citizenship, Fidelity, and Brotherhood.

Our 501(c)(3) Commitment

Iota Phi Theta DKO Community Engagement Committee is a Texas nonprofit corporation organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

No part of the net earnings of the organization inures to the benefit of any private individual. The organization does not participate in any political campaign on behalf of, or in opposition to, any candidate for public office, and no substantial part of its activities involves attempting to influence legislation.

Upon dissolution, the organization’s remaining assets shall be distributed for one or more exempt purposes to organizations qualifying under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, with preference given where practicable to organizations located within the State of Texas.
